Hi,
A person has edit issue permission for my project, but they are unable to edit the epic.
The same access is granted to another user, who can edit the epic issue type.
There's no transition, the status properties are used, and there's no issue security applied in that project.
Would you please tell me how to solve this problem?
Thanks,
Gajanan
Can I suggest you login as the user (I'm sure you already have) but just to see what they see.
I've frequently found that being an admin but looking through the user's eyes can highlight the issue.
As I'm sure you know, the ability to perform in a project is controlled by not only the permission scheme, but also the users role(s) in the project. Can I then suggest that you review
Hi @Gajanan Sasane,
The best thing you can do to diagnose the problem, is run the permission helper. If you are indeed on server, type gg and then type permission helper in the dialog that pops up. Enter the issue key of the epic, select the user who is experiencing the issue and then select the edit issues permission to validate. Your Jira instance will give you the best possible cause as to why he/she can't edit the issue.
If nothing obvious pops up, find out more specifically what he/she is trying to do. Is it really editing fields, trying to change the status, updating links, ... Since the permissions system is quite granular, it's also possible that another type of update is failing or that the user is doing something unexpected.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response; unfortunately, it shows the user has permission to edit the epic.
Any other workaround, please?
