Hi @Jack Davis ~ if you use ScriptRunner, this should work:

issuetype = Epic and issueFunction not in hasLinkType("Epic-Story Link")

Not directly without an App - but Apps you could use include...

• JQL Search Extensions for Jira
• Scriptrunner / Enhanced Search
• Or another App from the Marketplace

Alternatively, you could:

• Export the Epics and the child Issues to Excel, and complete the analysis this way
• Use Automation to populate a custom field (either number field or select list (yes/no))
