Since today morning, I am getting error
"Couldn't create the issue" while creating bug and task in JIRA project. Other issue types can be created.
When I checked Developer tool, the API is erroring out with 500 error. It does not show any further details.
Hi @Madhuri Pendharkar , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
Does anything change when you refresh the page? Does the problem occur in other projects? Have you tried with another browser or incognito? I had a strange problem in one of my customer instances today and it was resolved by using another browser.
Please share your feedback and we'll try to help however we can.
Cheers
Hello Valerie,
The issue occurs even after changing browser to a fresh one, changing to incognito mode. The problem occurs in all projects which are created from a template project, however in other projects which are not copied from the template, the issue does not occur.
It was working fine till yesterday and suddenly ran into this issue since yesterday morning. Do you have idea of any other probable reasons?
Thanks in advance,
Madhuri

Hi @Madhuri Pendharkar , thanks for your feedback. Have you opened a support ticket with Atlassian? I think they might be the best placed to help with this.

Hi @Madhuri Pendharkar , is this a Jira Service Management project?
I just went to open my own question for something else and found this alert
This is also a good place to check -
Where I can see there are several ongoing incidents. It is likely you aren't alone in experiencing this issue.
Atlassian should be working to resolve these issues. You can either open your own support ticket or keep an eye on the status page and see, when everything is green again, if this also resolves your issue.
Cheers

Hi @Valerie Knapp ,
Thank you very much for your feedbacks and information. I have raised a support ticket yesterday and they are investigating the same. not yet through it but hopefully they will give me some solution soon.
I checked the URL - https://status.atlassian.com/ . it's a good place to check the current issues. Thanks for this.
The issue that I am facing is on JIRA Software. My instance of JSM is working fine.
My guess is it might have occurred due to some configuration changes. We have 1 sample project in our instance which has all workflows, fields and screen settings. Whenever I need to create a new project, I create it using this sample project as template so that the workflows and configs get copied to the new project. After that, I just update the contexts of custom fields to point to the new project. I assume this activity (Updating contexts of custom fields to point to new project) might have somewhere caused some issue in backend. I am not able to trace anything from UI hence waiting for help from support team.
Thank you once again for all the help that you are providing.

An issue was identified at JIRA cloud end for issue creation for some customers. This caused above mentioned issue in my case. It started working fine one the issue at JIRA cloud end was fixed.
Thank you very much for your suggestions and help.
