Error when installing Jira

Error connecting to MSSQL database. Help to understand!

This can be caused by a number of things:

• The account running Jira does not have full rights to read, write, execute or delete all the files in the installation.  Check that the files are all owned by the right user
• The database settings are wrong - wrong collation set usually
• The system does not have full access to the database - check the database user can log in and has full rights on all the tables in the database

I mixed up the settings for Confluence with Jira.

You shouldn't be running the system with a system user for the database, it should be a dedicated user with full read/write/index etc inside the target database.  That will not be the problem here though, it's just something you will want to sort out in the long run.

What about the file ownership?  Have you tested that the user can get into the database ok?

Thanks for help! it worked. I mixed up the instructions for "Confluence"
