i have a question, there is a way to make the old excel export option in xlsx format?
i have already set my jira-properties with the following line
jira.export.excel.enabled=true
The resultat is generated in xls fromat.
does existe any chance to reach my goal?

Better Excel Exporter exports XLSX files natively.
(You can also XLS files with this app if that's required, but XLSX is the current, modern, non-proprietary spreadsheet fileformat.)

The old code that is disabled by default was written before .xlsx existed, and Atlassian are simply not maintaining or updating it any more.
So, while you can re-enable it with a flag, it's not aware of xlsx, and never will be (unless Atlassian decide to deal with the issues @Scott Theus has pointed you to, which I suspect is unlikely as they are focussed on the CSV export everyone was demanding... until it arrived)

And guess what -- The CSV content is DIFFERENT than the XLS content. For example, user's Name field was swapped for the userID data. So for many of us, switching to CSV isn't an option. Sheesh.
