Failed Re-indexing 8.2.3

Maury August 4, 2020

Good morning community,
I have a query, to see if it has happened to you.
Every time we do a hot re-indexing within the Jira Data Center, it gives us an error between 3 and 10%.
If we do it from node to node it works, but that requires this to be a failed node.
Also if we delete the content in the caches directory, so that it is generated from 0 it works, but here we would leave no Jira index.
Has this happened to anyone ?, by the way we have the 8.2.3 Data Center vercion.
Thanks a thousand for the help in advance.
a greeting

Hi Maury,

unfortunately I cannot come up with a solution - but the question for cases like this would be if you already have checked the logs - and if that is the case - if you spotted something unusual in it.

From my experience some hint towards why the re-index failed can be found from logs.

I also noticed you mentioned version "8.2.3" which is a bit old. In case it was no typo, is there any chance for you to upgrade to a more recent version? Maybe this would iron out some (older) bugs? This is only guesswork, though and would require going through release notes. First step I would is to check log files for the re-indexing problem.

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the answer, the update is a bit more difficult but we have it pending.

Un saludo
