Hello,
I am experiening an issue about automated release notes. The automated sending has stopped and I do not know how to fix this. If I see the logs they say that there was a failure saying: "Failed to send email message due to authentication failure. Authentication unsuccessful, the user credentials were incorrect.". Then, if I check the smtp settings they are correct but if I enter the password of the email/user an error comes out saying "Failed to authenticate SMTP connection. Please check your credentials.".
I have also checked the integration status and there's an error as well saying "Integration configured but enable to establish connection"
Can someone help please?
Thanks!

Hope that helps.

@Virginia Morrone this is the response on that ticket from my colleague.
The problem seems to be with your email server configuration. You will have to get in touch with the email admin and allow the SMTP usage & check if any other security configurations are blocking this.
This is a very common problem that we see & is always addressed by making appropriate configuration changes on the email server side.
Hope that helps.

the problem seems to be linked to the fact that our email address has a MFA(Multi-Factor Authentication). How can we manage this on jira automated notes settings?
Best,
Virginia

@Virginia Morrone ARN currently doesn't support MFA directly. You will need to make an exception for the email address which is to be configured in ARN & allow it to work without MFA.
Some email providers also allow email addresses with MFA to be configured via SMTP, however these are provider specific functionalities that we don't have expertise in.
Your email admin will have to make it work from the either of the two options - either make an exception or find the setting in your email server that allows SMTP access without 2FA.
Hope that helps.
Best,
Anand
