Field missing on issue type

All 6 of my issue types use the same workflow, field configuration, screen scheme, etc.

For a single one of those, Research, a custom field does not show up. I can see the field when I hit 'configure' on the ticket, but it never shows on the page itself. If everything is shared and identical, what's going on?

If I had to guess, the context for the custom field is not set to include the issue type.

Go to Custom Fields, find the offending field, click the Elipses and click "Contexts and default value"

On the next page, click the gear:Screenshot 2020-09-22 1638232.png

After you click the gear, you should have some options, including "Choose Applicable issue types."  Make sure it includes your issue type

That was it! I had 'Screens and contexts' set, but never clicked the ellipsis to add the issue type. Thanks!

Hi Fred - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Can you share some screenshots of what you are experiencing? I am having a little bit of trouble following.
