Getting Epics & Tasks to appear visually in Roadmap

I am creating a new KanBan Jira project from scratch and have created epics w/ tasks that have "Start" and "Due" dates. However when I view the "Roadmap" there is no visual "Gantt". The roadmap appears with the epic "rows" on the left, nothing appears on the right in the monthly columns? What do I have to do to get the Epics and Tasks to appear there?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

If you are accessing the Roadmap option from the navigation panel for the project/board then you are accessing the Basic Roadmaps functionality.

Thank You @Trudy Claspill! This is exactly what I was looking for.

1) In Roadmap I went to top right "3 dots" > Configure Roadmap 

2) Checked the "Child-level issue scheduling" which shows schedule lines as desired
