Global automation rule is not working on existing Jira Issues

Faisal Farooqi January 9, 2023

Hello Atlassian Community,

I have an ask,

I have created a global rule to update Project A  Jira Issue status when the linked Issue from Project B updates its status.

I can see it works for newly created Jira issues but not with the previously created and linked ones.

Hi @Faisal Farooqi

Can you please share screenshots of your rule and rule log?

Thanks - The rule seems fine.  Do you have log entries for the scenario where you have a legacy FAPT issue that doesn't transition the linked AM issue?

When I linked any existing AM issue with the FAPT issue, no logs generate.

Does it mean that the rule does not trigger at all?

Thank you Mark for brilliant support.
I had this issue earlier this morning. Does this help in troubleshooting

I've seen this occur when the source and target workflows are not in sync.  It seems like the AM project cannot accept the same transition as FAPT
