We are using Jira hosted by atlassian and we use this instance to run multiple projects. Each Project as a dedicated project admin which has project specific permissions but not the site admin permission
We recently noticed that the Project admin does not have the permission to change the field definitions and mapping field definitions to Masks (views).
How can we grant the permission to edit the field conffig? We already created a field config specific to each project so the config is not shared but we are missing info which permission should be added so that a none site admin can change this
Hello @Christian Georg
As per the docs
https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/changing-a-field-configuration-844500798.html
"As a Jira administrator, you can manage the descriptions that appear with each field, and make certain fields required or hidden using field configurations"
Thus, it's only the full system admins can have this permission.
Hello Tarun,
I understand that adding is possible and that a Site Admin can change this, but I take it from your response there is no object Level permission that could be granted to roles or users to even add fields
Thanks for your response
