How can I show the status of Backlog issues on a monthly basis?

Without reference to the creation date of the "Issue". I want to see how many issues there were in that month.

Merhaba @Sema YILDIRIM ,

It is not possible to display the info you need out of the box in Jira. You either need to develop your own code and try marketplace apps. One of the apps you can try is Status Time app developed by our team. Main functionality is to provide status duration of issues. However, there is the history narrowing functionality which will be useful for your case. You can narrow down the history to the start and end date of the month and report will provide the time spent on Backlog status for that specific time range only. You can export the report and in excel you can filter Backlog durations with positive values.

Here is the demo link you can try.

Umarım faydalı olur.

Hi, @Sema YILDIRIM

You may want to try a search the Atlassian Marketplace for Jira, Cloud, apps that help you visualize backlogs (and other things).

For example: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=visualize

Scan the results for the apps that you think might fit your use case(s).  Like some of the other responses, my company makes products that may help you (or not) -- the Structure product family -- but this way you can get a quick view of all of them and zero in on a handful that "look right" for you. :)

Hope this helps,

Hello @Sema YILDIRIM

Can you provide more information about what you are trying to achieve?

Do you want to know how many issues were created each month?

Do you want to know how many issues existed that month, regardless of the issue status?

Do you want to know how many issues were in a particular status at some point during the month?

I want to know how many issues were in a particular status at some point during the month. But "Issues" should not take into account the date of creation. The sample may have been created on issue 2019. But it's still open in February 2021

Thanks

Hi @Sema YILDIRIM

The Screenful Dashboards add-on can provide backlog visualisation out of the box. You can configure which states are included and with mouse hover you can see the counts at any point in history. Here's a sample chart:

Hi @Sami Linnanvuo _Screenful_,

Thanks for offering a potential solution to the original question.  In the future, please see our Community guidelines for Marketplace vendors.  In your previous response it is not exactly clear what affiliation you might have with the vendor Screenful.  We strongly suggest that vendors explicitly state that they work for a vendor before suggesting a solution.  Additionally, you can add your vendor name into your public name on https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/profile-and-visibility which in turn can help Community readers better identify this association.

Thanks

Andy

Hi @Sema YILDIRIM

BigPicture/BigGantt allows narrowing down the view and displaying all issues from a defined period, regardless of the creation date. Moreover, you can group issues per status or display only issues in a selected status. Furthermore, you can aggregate data (time tracking data included) per status/status category or on the parent issue level.

Hello @Sema YILDIRIM

As an alternative, you can try a third-party add-on - Time in Status for Jira Cloud. It generates 7 types of status reports (including the time in status report).

You can choose the date ranges you need and get the necessary data based on this period. Generate a report and export it as XLSX or CSV files which you can analyze using tools like Excel or Google Spreadsheets.

I hope, you find it helpful.

Best regards, Mariana.
