Dear all,
we are going to run an optimization work on our jira data center instance by removing all custom fields which are absolutely not used in anywhere. This based on Atlassian best practice on custom field optimization tool report.
But it could happen that a custom field is reported as not used in a project form but is part of the WF condition or what so ever , or dashboard filter, etc...
What is the proper way to report correctly an unused custom field in order to be sure is not used at all and can be safely removed ?
is is better to directly query the database for all information ?
if yes how
regards

hello @Mayur Jadhav , I have read and proceed with those steps you mentionned.
My question is when we run the tool custom field optimization in jira, does it take in a account or is able to detect if the field is used in a board of Workflow ?
I mean if the field is reported as used in any project, are we 100% sure that it is not present as well in any workflow or dashboard filter ?
regards

See custom is associated with screen if you removed that field from screen. I don't think It will affect workflow or any dashboard.

So that means, that you can remove a custom field, which potentially is in used in WF or dashboard filter. Then your WF might not work anymore as you can delete a custom field
