Has anyone used multiple boards under one project?

susan Ciotti July 22, 2019

I am trying to create multiple boards under one project .. I tried it in the test environment but when I created the board it pulled in stories linked to the project and when I created an issue it updated in all of the boards.  Has anyone had any luck  with the one project multi Board set up .

Hi Susan - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

We use multiple boards with a single project. The trick is that you need a different filter for each board, depending on what you want to show up on each board.

Hi Susan,

boards are independent of projects. As John stated, a filter is used to pull issues into a board. The filter itself consists of a query (either simple or a JQL (Jira Query Language) statement). We use both: Boards covering multiple (all) projects to get an overview where coworkers/team are working on what, using a JQL selecting issues based on components & assignees, and on the other hand multiple team-based boards on a single project, one for each team.

Everything is possible...

Thank you!  I will play around with the filters , if you have any examples I would be grateful to see how you set your boards..
