I would like to know if it is possible to extract a project from a instance of JIRA and migrate that project to a new instance of JIRA.

You didn't mention if your instances were Server/Data Center or Cloud.

It's possible for:

Server/Data Center -> Server/Data Center

Server/Data Center -> Cloud

Cloud -> Server/Data Center

Cloud -> Cloud (this is in Beta right now)

Thank you for your response, that is very helpful.  At this point, I am not sure what the source instance is, but I am thinking our destination will be Cloud.
