Remove double scrollbar in issue full view

I was trying to test out the keyboard shortcuts and I accidentally enabled a second scrollbar while in the full issue view.  How can I turn this off?

Hi @Sarah Green

The right-hand side is part of the main issue view - it's split into description fields on the left - i.e multi-line text fields - and context fields on the right, which is pretty much everything else.

Not sure why you have two scroll bars though - is this just happening for you or all users on your instance? If it is just you - I'd check your computer hasn't had any modifications to screen resolution or monitor sizing, etc first.

If none of this has been modified - what browser are you using? Have any browser settings been changed around sizing?

Ah that's what it was! I knew something was different - it was the added scrollbar. (I edited my post for clarity based on this.)

I was messing around with the keyboard shortcuts as a I said, and it somehow enabled it. I don't remember which one it was.

I don't believe it has anything to do with computer mods or my browser since it happens while I was testing shortcuts.

Hi @Sarah Green

There is no option to toggle a second scroll-bar / slice up the screen like this, as far as I know!

Keyboard shortcuts can have impacts on browser settings as well as Jira - often there is some crossover between them.

I would try:

  • Accessing this URL from a different browser and/or...
  • Accessing from a different computer

It'll help clarify the if the issue is Jira based (related to your user settings) or browser/computer based.

You could also try simply closing your browser session and logging out/in again - there are a range of settings which reset to default when a login session ends - if this is an anomaly, it might disappear with this action :)

This has suddenly popped up on my issue-view today as well.  Using Google Chrome Version 84.0.4147.125 (Official Build) (32-bit) - I have made no changes since before this happened, as far as I am aware.

Hi @Ste Wright

I too am having this issue.  I have not changed any settings.  All of the sudden yesterday when the screen refreshed I now have two scroll bars exactly like the screen shot.  Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.  I too am using Chrome Version 86.0.4240.75 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Hi @Ricardo_Zamora

I would contact https://support.atlassian.com/ in this instance :)

This is because it doesn't happen for everyone so might be site-specific!

@Sarah Green

Hi!  How did you solve this issue?  I still have the two scroll bars too.  Thank you.

It went away for me after one of the recent updates.
