Hello,
When trying to clone an issue type (e. g. User Story) with the "Expand/Collapse feature" in the Description, what I found is that the cloned issue type loses that feature and then you can not Collapse the content it unless you include the "Expand/Collapse feature" again.
How do I have to clone it without losing that Feature in the cloned one ?
Otherwise, how should I create the original?
Thanks in advance & have a great day !
Hello @Fátima Ganzo
Thank you for reaching out.
Indeed, there are some elements that are not copied when cloning an issue in Jira Cloud, including the expand feature. This is not a bug, but a missing functionality in Jira.
We created the following feature request to consider its implementation in future releases of Jira Cloud:
Support coping Emoji, Date, Status, Expand in description when cloning an issue
Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.
For now, the only possible workaround would be to manually copy the expand/collapse section from the original issue to the cloned one. Automation rules will not work, as it has the same limitation as the clone feature.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your feedback here!
It's Aleksandra from Deviniti, and we seem to face the same trouble in one of our apps that re-creates existing issues. The app is Issue Templates for Jira Cloud. Could you advise if we should raise a separate request in this case?
Thanks in advance for your guidance!
Cheers,
Aleksandra

Hey @Aleksandra Bosacka _Deviniti_
Can you please add your case to the same public suggestion?
I believe the limitation in your app might be coming from the same application source as the Jira Clone feature, so I'll contact our PM team to take a look and check if they are related.
Thanks!

Thank you, @Petter Gonçalves
After our developers took a look at this issue, we believe that as soon as these elements are supported in the Jira Clone feature, it will be also possible for the Issue Templates app.
Anyway, I've just added a comment under JRACLOUD-79160 as you suggested. Thanks again!
Cheers,
Aleksandra
