How can I create a new issue on transition and copy the new issue number to the original issue?

I have a post function on a transition to create a new issue. I would like to somehow return that new issue number in a comment to the original issue. Any idea on how this can be done?

I didn't realize we were using an addon for this... it's the Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons - Create on Transition.

I'm not familiar with that add-on; hopefully someone familiar with it can chime in and offer some guidance.
