I added Story point estimate: to tickets but these don't show in the backlog view next to the tickets and don't get calculated into the common sprint estimate. How could I fix it? TYIA
Hello @Anastasiya Kruchkevych
Sorry to see you are facing a problem to estimate your board.
Can you confirm if you are using a Classic or Next-gen project? The behavior you are facing typically happen when you select the wrong field to estimate your Story points. Explaining better:
JIRA has just one specific field to track the Story points for each project type (Next-gen or Classic), and a different field will not work:
- On Classic projects, the estimation is measured on the Story Points field
- On Next-gen projects, the estimation is measured on the Story Point Estimate field
That being said, if you are using a Classic project, please use the Story Points field to estimate your issues and completely remove the Story Point Estimate field from your project screens.
Let us know if this is the scenario you are facing.

I am using a classic project and am unable to see my story points in the bubbles in my backlog. They also do not sum when planning a sprint.
I have disassociated the "Locked" Story Point Estimate field from all of my screens and added just the Story Point field.
Please let me know how I can resolve this issue.
Thank you!
Emilia

Hello @Emilia Kuziemska
Please, ensure your project and board are configured with the following settings:
If the steps above didn't work for you, can you please provide us with a screenshot of your board and how it is displaying your issues together with the detail view (right panel) of any issue in the board with Story points?
