I have issues grouped in Epics and have Gantt chart built on a certain structure. Now I want to see the sequence of tasks for a particular resource. I tried Structure Transformations, but found out that just Epics can be sorted there. I have several resources, tasks dependencies, so sometimes issues from the same epic do not go in a row, that's fine. But I want to see the sequence of tasks for a particular resource. Just to illustrate, what I see is:
You can see that just epics (horizontal grey lines) are sorted by start date. What I want to see is:
And I'm ok if the first and the third rows belong to the same epic, and the second one belongs to another.
Thanks in advance!
Hello @Yulia Tropina
Yulia from ALM Works here.
Since the Epics have been established as part of the hierarchy, it will not be possible to remove them using a Filter Transformation. Structures' first priority is to respect the hierarchy.
In order to accomplish your goal, we will need to make some adjustments to how your structure was built. Did you use an Insert Generator to add the Epics and then Extend to the issues? Or are you inserting the issues and using a Group Generator to add in the Epics?
If you could, please share a screenshot of the Generators in use. If at any point you are uncomfortable sharing additional information here, you can always contact our support team directly via email support@almoworks.com or our support portal support.almworks.com.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Yulia, thanks for the answer! I used the second way: inserted the ussues and then used Group Generator to add in Epics. And I need Epics to be presented in the Structure, because there are block links between Epics.
I thought of a workaround in the meanwhile, but have not tried yet. I think I can use Effector and add Gantt Start Date and Gantt End Date as custom fields to all issues of the structure. Then build another structure without Epics, but with the same issues of other types. And I guess that Order and Filter Transformation will work there the way I need. I will have also to set the Gantt settings for this new structure so that it uses Gantt Start Date and Gantt End Date from the initial structure (this will keep the same order). I think this should work, but this requires some amount of additional efforts. It would be nice if you suggest an easier way.
Thanks again!

Hello @Yulia Tropina
Your solution would definitely work.
Another option would be to adjust your current structure by removing the "group by epic" as a generator and adding it in transformation. Here, you will be able to add your epic grouping by enabling the transformation, and disabling the transformation when not needed.
Let me know if that would work for you.

Hello @Yulia Barbash _ALM Works_
Thanks for the answer.
I thought that transformations do not affect the Gantt chart, is that true? I have some links between Epics themselves (and the issues of these epics), which should affect the Gantt chart.

Hello @Yulia Tropina
In this case, the only option would be to create a new structure the way you described.
If you run into any challenges, please contact our support team, we would be happy to help.

Privet, @Yulia Tropina. Welcome to the community!
First, let's confirm something. It looks like the Gantt you are using is Structure.Gantt — the Gantt extension for Structure. Can you please confirm?
