How can I set up auto issue creation from gmail?

Deleted user March 8, 2020

I am trying to set up POP / IMAP mail servers currently configured for Jira.

However, the test failed and the reason is:

javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: [AUTHENTICATIONFAILED] Invalid credentials (Failure) while connecting to host 'imap.gmail.com' as user 'jira-pmo@wavelet.net' via protocol 'imaps

I am not sure on what adjustments are need to be done to make sure the test does not fail.

Thanks

Hello @[deleted]

Have you already enable the Less Secure Apps in the Gmail account? This is usually a common issue with Gmail and Jira.

Once logged in to gmail with account, go to this URL to make the change of that setting.

I hope this helps and if it doesn't, let us know.

Dear Edwin,

Thank you for the feedback. Is it necessary to turn off the secure app setting?

I don't have a problem with other mail handlers, this is the first case.

Thanks

In my experience, yes. I know that gmail also allows application specific passwords but I’ve never tried that with Jira. I would test turning off that setting to test. This will at least confirm that’s the issue.
