How can I structure a project to see child/sub-tasks on the timeline?

I am trying to plan a release and see all of the required tasks on the timeline. Here is how I have the hierarchy structured:

• epic = release date
  • stories = user stories we are addressing for this release
  • tasks = high-level tasks required to complete the story
  • sub-tasks = individual tasks that must be completed (by various users) in order to finish a task

The problem is that I can't see sub-tasks on the timeline. My understanding is that this is a limitation of the software. Is there a different way to structure my project so that I can see the bottom-level of tasks on the timeline?

You have tagged your post to indicate you are using the Premium subscription.

Are you then access the timeline feature by using an Advanced Roadmaps Plan, from the Plans menu?

Or are you accessing the Timeline feature that displays when you are viewing an agile board?

Sub-tasks cannot be made visible on the Timeline available when viewing a board (the second option). They are only visible if you use the Timeline from an AR Plan (the first option).

Yes, I am on premium and was able to see sub-tasks on the plan tab. Thank you!
