How can I view tickets from previous releases?

Does Jira allow teams to view previous tasks or iterations. For instance, users of Jira can't see whether a completed Story is associated with a software release.

Is this possible or not?

Hi @Jean Ann Harrison

A user can see if an issue is associated with a version, usually a "fix version". When that version is released, there isn't an indication on the issue. However via the version hub you can see which versions are released on not (access only if you are a project admin).

A user can also click on the "Releases" shortcut if it is activated from the features of the project

You can also search with a JQL using the following query:

fixVersion in releasedVersions()

Let me know if the above helps.

This is very helpful and was my understanding as well.   I have used this method in my recent past but I wanted it confirmed here.

The reason why I asked is because I had seen a highly dated response that Jira did not have this capability but I knew better.

Thanks again for your very helpful response.

I tried to go back and accept but unfortunately I could not.  I did accept your reply requesting this acceptance so hopefully that helps.

Hello @Jean Ann Harrison

Yes, this is possible if you are talking about Release that are tracked in Jira.

A user can go to the Releases page for a project, select a release version, and open it to see the issues that were included in that release.

You can also search for issues in a specific release version by setting criteria for the FixVersion field.

If all the user has is the issue ID, then they can look up that issue and review what is in the Fix Version/s field. You can click on the values there to be taken to the details page for that particular release version.

If you are talking about Releases that tracked via development tools I'm less familiar with that functionality.

Perfect!  Thank you so much for this answer.  The reason I asked is because there is a claim out on the internet that Jira does not have the capability but that response shows to be highly dated.  This is why I asked the question here.

Thank you so much!  You've been so helpuful!
