"Done" items should never appear in a backlog, and if you have your board set up correctly, you won't have them there.

Your "done" items should be in a status that is in the last column on your board.  Start there and check the issues that are in your backlog for their status being correct.

So in another words, add an extra column after DONE - such as CLOSED and dont map it to anything ? what about backlog tickets ?

NO.  Absolutely no.

The last column in any (allegedly) Agile board is done.  All the other columns are not.

The last column is "done"

Everything else needs more work, so it is either in backlog, to-do, or in-progress, depending on your more detailed view.  What matters is "done".  Done in Agile means "no-one might need to do more on it".  Done in real life means exactly the same.

Nic i saw a lot of posts online to add another column next to DONE as CLOSED . I do understand your point but doesnt make sense for these done issues to show up in the backlog

I do not understand "next to done as closed".  If it is not done, it is not done.

Could you explain how "it's not done but it is done?"

To simplify - is it done, or is it it not?

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist-  I didnt understand when i saw a lot of posts online to create a last column, CLOSED and not map to anything.

I agree with you a 100 %, if a ticket is done, why it should moved to another column on the board that says CLOSED.

People seem to use the steps above but i did not want to do that. So going through the board the other day, I found the issue and solution :

Problem: Ticket marked as done was still showing up in my backlog list

Solution: Ticket view have 2 options to mark ticket as done

1) Theres a tab "DONE" next to EDIT / ASSIGN  /COMMENT etc...

2)Dropdown menu that says TICKET STATUS

For some odd reason, tab that says done, changesthe ticket status but does not clear from the backlog list

2) You have to go through the dropdown menu and select ticket status as DONE, That gets the ticket move to DONE and nothing shows up in the backlog list.

Thanks

That's because the DONE column is now the last on the board.
