How can i map different issues to different boards within a project

Hello all,

I created multiple boards in a project. These boards are for different projects housed by a larger project. How can i map the specific issues related to each projects to their boards. Someone should please help me

Hello, @Sa , I think you could use labels or, even better, a component. You could created filters based on components to classify your issues.

 

Remember that Components are defined by project admins, and anyone can add a label to an issue they can edit, and that label does not have to be from a pre-defined list.

Thank you@Jose, so what i need is a query that would enable me see the issues under a specific board. I created two boards under a project but when I click on each board, it opens all the issues in the project. I want to be able to see issues related to the specific board, how can i do this please.

N.B: I’m new to using Jira

Hi, you'll first have to decide how you will distinguish issues from each project. Like Jose suggested, you could use Components or Labels. 

Once you decided what you'll use, you'll have to create a Filter. Go to Issues, search for Issues. Then create the filter. For example 

Project = MyJiraProject AND Component = initiative-x 

You then save this filter. 

Last step is to change your Board settings so that it uses this new filter as the Board's filter.
