We've been on the new navigation for a few weeks. This week, small changes were made without notice, including moving the status dropdown to the description area. How can we move it back to the details area on the right side?
I tried to customize the page, but the status field is not movable. All of the fields that are updated throughout the lifecycle of an issue are in our details area, and status is one of those data fields. From our user experience, it makes sense to group them together for updating and ease of viewing. The field is lost over by the description.
Hello @Becky T
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Google Search AI produced this response.
In Jira Cloud, the status field is now displayed under the "Description" field, not within the "Context Fields" area, according to Atlassian. This change was part of an Atlassian experiment to prioritize key actions like adding content and progressing the status, according to Atlassian. While some users have found this change disruptive, Atlassian is not currently offering a way to revert to the previous placement.
And per an accepted answer on this post, you can contact Atlassian Support to have the status moved back to the Context area.
Hi @Becky T and welcome to the Community!
Can you share a screenshot of what you are seeing? I am afraid it will not be something you will be able to control, but I work in quite a lot of cloud sites and I can't see the behaviour you describe in any of those. So I am trying to pinpoint where this might be happening.

Never mind my comment @Becky T - @Trudy Claspill is 100% right on this one. This is an issue I had not encountered yet.
