How can we preserve JIRA custom tables during version upgrde?

Bob Vaughn February 22, 2019

We have some custom tables we need for our implementation.  Is there a good way to preserve them during a JIRA version upgrade?   Thanks.

If you implement your persistence logic with ActiveObjects, which is the recommended tool for this in Atlassian apps, then the tables managed by AO will be automatically preserved.

I'd definitely go that way.

Is this available in Server?

Yes, in fact only on Server.  It's the only recommended way to do extra tables in the database.

Yes, available. Check this out before anything else.
