How can we set any issue resolved or not resolved?

Kalpaj Kuber Parmaj September 14, 2022

How can we create a field for issues that it is resolved or still it's not resolved? Can anyone send me details on this?

Hi Kalpaj,

You need to add a post function to the transition to the Done status to set the Resolution field.

Can you please explain this process

Hi @Kalpaj Kuber Parmaj , can you provide more details on your use case. I don't understand your request here.

We have some issues which undone by developers. They don't have any idea to resolve this issue. So we have to move those stories to done column with Unresolved status

Stop doing that, it makes no sense.

Jira has a bit of a problem with "done" in that it works in two ways.  Most of Jira sees an issue as "done" when a resolution is set (rather than a null in the database column for it), but Jira Software sees it as "done" when it is in the last column of a board.

Ideally, you should set up your workflow to ask for, or set, a resolution when you move an issue into the last column, and clear it when you move it out.

But we have the flexibility to do may workflows, different boards, and and and.

You are going to need to look at your process and decide how to match up the setting (and clearing) of resolution and what the last columns on your boards are showing.
