How can we track change failure rate by release & team or other?

Karl Hamilton March 15, 2023

What do you suggest we connect bug/incident tickets to in order to try and try to produce ‘failure rate’ report tracking? Release? Epic? Story? All? Or is there a dashboard widget or app that enables this failure rate to be produced and tracked by release/team? Failure rate would be something like a percentage figure for a release/sprint/team.

Hi @Karl Hamilton

These kind of numbers and percentages can be easily calculated with the Advanced issue Filter Formula gadget that our Great Gadgets app offers.

This gadget allows applying math formulas against up to 6 Jira filters and display up to 6 results.

Hi @Karl Hamilton,

could you elaborate on how the "failure rate", in particular the "percentage" that you're mentioning, would be calculated? Understanding this will help the community propose good solutions.

Best,

Hannes

Hi, from what I understand - for a given number of tickets (eg release, sprint, team, period) how many of them failed in live and needed a fix (assuming a linked bug was raised) so for one release of 20 tickets, 2 failed = 10% failure rate….
