The order of fields in the New Issue View seems totally random. It's not based on the order of fields in the proper issue view.
At the bottom I see a 'Configure' link but that takes me to a configuration screen for the current project. That's useless. I have people working across many projects so I need the order of fields to be the same for all those projects.
There's a link that says "To make more fields available, or to add and edit field tabs, go to Default Screen." And the 'Configure Screen' page that takes me to says
"These are the fields and their order for issues using Default Screen"
"For locations where the new issue view is enabled
So that's back to where I came from. Oh, and the order of fields in the Configure Screen list looks nothing like what I see in the issue view.
Does all this mean that NextGen hell is finally taking over classic projects? No more consistency, every project has to be configured individually?
Unfortunatly the short answer is "yes".
Currently the new issue view is configured by project on JSW. No more screen schemes I'm afraid.
Well yes, you can use it to make fields available on a screen but the order which is defined in the new view, that's unique for each project.
"Sarcastic Hooray"
Well isn't that bloody marvellous. Well done Atlassian. Again.
Thanks for confirming my fears.
