Greetings. I'm looking to have a quick reference in my dashboard to tasks assigned to specific members of my team. I would then like to share those dashboards with them. As I work with folks who are not used to Jira, I'd like to make it as easy as possible for those users to see issues assigned to them. Likewise, I'd like to tell from a glance at my dashboard what the open issues are that my team members are working on. I know a variety of ways to do this work with search filters, but I really like the idea of having a dashboard for this.
When I create or edit a dashboard, I'm presented with a gadget for "Assigned to Me", but I can't figure out the controls for the JQL to change the user whose issues are being listed. Seems like it should be right there in plain sight, but I'm not seeing it.
Thanks.
Hello @Mark Mulik
You can't change the parameters of the Assigned To Me gadget.
You can use the Filter Results gadget to get a list of issues based on a Saved Filter. You will need to share your Saved Filters and the Dashboard with the users who need to see it.
Thanks, @Trudy Claspill . I was on that path originally, but a colleague showed me how to have Quick Filters on a Kanban board, and I like that better than having a bunch of pre-defined gadgets set to individual saved filters. The Quick Filters are all lined up next to each other along the top of the Kanban board, and anyone with access to the board can easily click their way through each saved filter in the board.
I created filters for all of the core team members on my project, plus one for Others who aren't commonly working on the project (using Assignee NOT IN...) and one for Unassigned tasks.
That should be super handy for all concerned, though displaying 20 quick filters along the top is a little cluttered.

Hi Mark,
I think for your use case, would be better to create a simple filter that just points to the project (or use the already created one for the project board) and then use the gadget "Filter Results". Point to the project/board filter (again, the filter should just point to the project, i.e. project = XXX).
After selecting the filter, add the field "Assignee" and you should get what you're looking for. See screenshots below:

Thanks so much for the quick responses!
I talked with someone internally, and I think I will use a Kanban board with Quick Filters instead, as I can readily configure it, and it will actually be more useful for my purposes, as my goal is to expose information to all project team members on the status of everyone's tasks, and get them to move open tasks along the workflows. Having a view that shows only unresolved tasks in a dashboard, where the only interaction allowed is to access issues one at a time, isn't going to be the best user experience.
Thanks.
