How do I create a new Service Type?

Jeter Cotton April 2, 2018

I can't find a place anywhere to edit / remove / add Service Types in JIRA. Do I have to call Atlassian to make these changes?

I'm not sure what you mean by "Service Type" - Service Desk requests?  Or the system services?

Are you on Cloud?

By service type, I'm referring to the field circled in the screenshot when making an issue. I can't find the place to edit it anywhere.Screen Shot 2018-04-02 at 1.00.37 PM.png

And yes, we are on Cloud.

That's simply a custom field your admins have added to the request forms.  Your admins can change it in the project config.

@Jeter Cotton  @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

I looked for this Custom Field "Service Type" in my instance, and, of course, it didn't exist.  But I, too, have it on the list of fields in my instance when creating a Service.  So, I'm thinking it's a Jira Service Management System Field rather than a Custom Field.  Any chance of that?

Like Jeter, I'm trying to add to the number of Service Type options.  Currently, there are only four and we'd like some additional granularity.
