Hi there,
I am trying to create a project work progress report in Jira. I would like to do it through Dashboard with the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget. I am having a hard time though for it doesn't seem to pick up on any filters. Could someone help me with this issue, please? I would like to create a couple of filters to generate a specific report.
Thank you so much.
Regards,
Endre
Hi Endre,
First you have to create a filter. In order to do that you will first need to go to the Issue Navigator in Jira, make a search of some kind, and from there you can then save your search as a filter. Only after you have saved that filter, will you be able to select it from within a gadget in a dashboard.
If you're unfamiliar with the Issue navigator, you can get there by
Jira Cloud:
Going to Filters > Advanced issue search
Jira Server:
Issues > Search for Issues.
You can also check out Save your search as a filter, for these steps as well. Try that and let me know if you run into any problems with this.

If the filter is public or at least accessible to you then you should be able to associate to the Gadget. When you edit the gadget begin typing the filter. Be aware that there are some oddities in the auto-complete. I have found that dashes in filters can create a miss so type a few letters and scroll they results.

oh, ok. another issue is that no matter what letter i type, there are no matches at all. do i need to enable something?

that is certainly odd. could you share a screenshot of your edit where you enter a letter. Ideally a letter that is the first letter of one or more saved filters
