How do I delete boards associated with company managed projects?

I am new to company managed projects in Jira and accidentally added a board filter to my project. What steps do I need to follow to delete the superfluous board filter? Below is the pop-up message I get when I try to delete the board, however it doesn't provide any guidance on how to remove the association.

Some other information which might be useful:

  • I'm an admin
  • I don't know if the permission has been set up correctly for deleting boards
  • Also, see below for further information about the filter in question

You have to change the filter being used on that board first, go into that board and select a different filter (you can make a new one, use a different existing one, etc). 
That's found in the board settings. 

Once you've done that, you can delete the board from the
"View all boards" interface, found just below the boards interface:
