The "Recent Uploads" section is in the popup for file attachment in an Issue. All sources had guided me to Space Tools in Confluence. I couldn't find anything related to deleting files in Jira Software (Cloud). I had already enabled permissions for attachments and deleting attachments.
By the way, this is not related to deleting attachment from Issue. This is specifically on deleting uploaded files shown in "Recent Uploads" of the attachment popup.
Looking forward to viable assistance, thanks in advance!
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to revisit this question, as it is possible to delete these images in Jira Cloud now. However this particular feature appears to be kept in the new Jira issue view. If you happened to have turned this off, then you won't have the ability to delete these 'recent uploads'.
To turn on the new issue view:
I hope this helps. Once you delete this image, you can turn off the new issue view again if you like.

Just for added context, when you hover over the image with the new issue view on, you can then see a trash icon to delete that image from the recent uploads:

I'd like to remove ALL recent uploads, as they go on forever. This feature only allows you to remove one at a time, even if many are selected. A global remove would be ideal.

This is a pretty important question. Someone on the team accidentally uploaded an inappropriate image. How do we remove it? This is a casual matter.

Could you clarify where exactly you see this "Recent Uploads"? I don't seem to have this same location on my own Jira Cloud site. Maybe grab a screenshot of the page you find this on and post it to this thread to help me understand exactly where you are seeing this.
The closest I have found to the functionality you describe is on a dashboard in Jira. There you can add a gadget to the dashboard called "Activity Stream". This stream of activity can display attachments in the feed there. While this gadget can't currently filter out these specific events, you could remove the gadget entirely from the dashboard as a means to mitigate this if this is indeed the location you are referring to.

Hi @Andy Heinzer,
Here's a screenshot of "Recent Uploads". You can get this popup with the following steps:
The 3 images in the "Recent Uploads" section are images I've uploaded previously. How do I remove these images? It seems like these images are shown in "Add attachment" popups in all projects. Looking forward to your help soon, thanks!

Thanks for explaining this Marshal. This upload form for Core/Software projects in Jira Cloud currently does not have a means for end users to remove this content. There is however a feature request for this over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-68881
I would recommend watching and voting on this issue to help our development team in prioritizing improvements. Sorry there does not appear to be a better solution for this at the moment, however these recent upload do appear to be limited to the user account that uploaded these.

Thanks for your answer @Andy Heinzer. I'll watch and vote on the issue. Certainly hope it gets resolved soon. In the mean time, I'm glad only the owner of the attachments can see these recently uploaded files.

Hi, I've got the same problem.
Apparently the feature request is supposed to have been fixed in Jan 2020, but since then people have posted that they can't see any evolution, and neither can I.
Olivier.
