How do I expose 2 fields into one column of a Dashboard filter?

Brian R September 27, 2017

In my Epics I have 2 fields:

1 - Release date using a date picker

2 - Release quarter using a text field

Early into a project we only know the quarter (2) and farther in we know the exact date (1).

I want to create a Dashboard that shows all Epics, and have both the release date and quarter in one column

I highly doubt JIRA can handle this. But let me know if there's a way.

The workaround, of course, is to only use the text field (2) and get rid of the date picker (1) but our company is too ingrained in using the date picker for reports, etc. for us to get rid of it now.

Brian, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the two field in one column but you can show both field on a dashboard.  Using the Filter Results gadget you can select both fields.

Right, I have it exposed in 2 columns today. But I want to see the data from both fields in 1 column, so that I can sort that one column.

I understand more.  You won't be able to add multiple fields into a single column in less you use an add-on to concatenate the two fields into a third.  There are a number of  them that can do this.

Thank you!

Do you have any examples? Are any free that you know of?
