I would like to know if there is a way to link a specific parent issue type to a specific sub-task issue type.
For example, I have a Client Lead (Parent) issue type and a Client Lead (ST) issue type.
But everytime I create a sub task it automatically cleates a Sub Task (ST) issue type instead of the Client Lead (ST) issue type.
Hi @Mareli
What does the order of the issues in your issue type scheme associated with the project look like?
Hi Mareli,
You are choosing the Client Lead sub-task from the dropdown and put in a Summary and it saves it as a regular Sub-task????

Hi Mareli,
Is the Client Lead ST defined as a ST under the issue type hierarchy ? You can find that under Settings>Issues>Issue Type Hierarchy

Thanks, @Scott Schellhardt - I think that helps me understand the question better also. @Mareli you should edit your Issue Type Scheme to move that sub-task up above the regular Sub-task one.

@Mareli Did this help to solve your issue ?

@John Funk, it works when you move it up. But when you go to a different issue type like task (parent) then you sit with the same problem because then the Client Lead (ST) is first in line and not the actual Sub Task (ST) issue type.
@Scott Schellhardt If I change the Issue type hierarchy it will change for all projects not just this specific one

That's correct. You can't have it both ways. One of the sub-task issue types will always be the default. You can't change that by parent type.
