How do I manipulate the quick filters on the Roadmap screen?

Defaults are Status Category and Type.  Users should be able to control the quick filters on this page.  Personally I would like to be able to filter on both existing jira field data and custom added fields as well.  Is it possible to control the filters that appear on the Roadmap page?

Basic Roadmaps only allows filter based on the assignee, status, versions, label, or text.

You need to use advanced roadmaps for more customizations!!

Thank you for taking the time to respond :)  I saw that article and it doesn't tell you how to select which filters you want.  We have what you'd call basic and we can only see and apparently not change 'Status category' and 'Label'.  I can't see a way to select a different filter i.e. assignee or status.  There doesn't appear to be anywhere to access the filters you mention..
