I have 4 columns on a Jira board under different epics, last column being completed - which comes under "Done" status in the workflow. i want to restrict access to this status - only to admins. Essentially members will have access to a jira ticket till it is moved to "completed" column/ "done" status, post which they wont be able to edit the ticket. How to go about this?
Hi,
You can use a Permission Condition in your workflow to allow only admins to perform this Done Transition. Here is the doc about Workflow Conditions for Jira Cloud: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-advanced-issue-workflows/#Conditions
I hope this helps.

Thanks, this option only helps me to restrict transitions, i wish to restrict access to "completed" tickets , not able to find any such options in rules in workflow settings

@dilruba.nedumpalli Ahhh ok... then to block issues access you need to use the Issue Security field and scheme: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-security-schemes/
You can create issue security levels within issue security schemes to let you and your team control who can see particular issues.
You can auto set the field when the issue goes to your Done status, using a transition post function or automation also.
I hope this helps again.
Cheers,
Dam.

@dilruba.nedumpalli Create a group and add people who want permission. In the workflow, use conditions based on users or this group. Once set, no one can proceed until the permission is granted.
