I'm trying to add a new group to Jira server.
The group is in Microsoft AD.
I added the group name, but a "sync" doesn't populate it with users.
In Confluence, do NOT use underscores in the Group name.
Jira does NOT have that problem, but Confluence does.
That's a bug in Confluence!
John,
If you have connect to AD via LDAP as explained here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/connecting-to-an-ldap-directory-938847052.html the group should come in via a sync and you will not need to create it in Jira. The group has to be part of the LDAP query and included in your additional group DN or CN.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Turned out to be an issue with underscores in the group name.
Jira does NOT have that problem, but Confluence does.
Once we renamed the group name for Confluence, it populated correctly.
