Just want the time log report that shows hours worked in aggregate, and by users over a specific time period / sprint?

Hello Jonathan,

I understand that you would like to return a sum of all the work logged by a specific user cross his assigned issues, is that correct?

The amount of time logged by a specific user can only be achieved by using the User Workload Report which is only available for JIRA Classic template, but not for Next-gen.

As you may know, JIRA Next-gen template was designed for those users who felt overwhelmed by the complexity of JIRA Classic template and requested a simpler option, straight to the point with fewer options of customization.

That been said, we understand that the option to add more reports would be something useful to have in the Next-gen template(Optionally). That's why we created the following feature request:

Kanban reports in next-gen projects

Feel free to vote and watch the suggestion to increase its priority and also receive notifications about any updates.

As a possible workaround:

1 - You can create a JQL query to return all the issues assigned to the user (Supposing your users can only log work on their assigned tasks):

Assignee = Username

2 - Export the issues to CSV file

3 - Use a third-party Spreadsheet software (Like Excel or LibreOffice) to sum the values of the Time Spent column

Let me know if you still have any questions.

I am using Kaban next-gen projects for Jira Software. Its perfect for multiple members of our software team to plan, track and release software. I would also like to track hours worked on each software release, right down to task detail / action item / issue; I would then like to aggregate hours worked for client billing purposes either periodically or on each release. Is the workaround described here suitable for this purpose? If so can you give me specific instructions I need to follow, including what each user needs to do in order to log his/her billable hours? If not, can you suggest an alternative? Thanks, Sean
