How do i add a new custom field for issues a next-gen project?

I am not able to add a new text field or any new fields to next-gen project issues  ( stories, epics, bugs, tasks). I am having work with only the description field for everything. 

On the traditional projects, I was able to add new custom fields and configure them as needed. 

Steps tried: settings > issues > custom fields > configure ( cannot find the next-gen project under the list of projects applicable)

Go to the projects settings > issue types and you will see customs fields for each issue type

I have tried that, but it only adds smaller attribute fields to the issues. Say I want another field like the description ( large text field?)

it is not avaliable yet multiline custom field..

Thank you for responding - Is that "YET" - sometime turning "YES" - if not i would need to go back to traditional project.
