How do you activate a new column being set up?

Dave Makohon September 12, 2023

Hi

I have created a new column for my Kanban board being 'On Hold' to reflect any issues that we are awaiting information from other areas of the organisation on. However I cannot activate this on my Kanban board until an issue is assigned to that column - it doesn't appear on my Kanban Board so I can't assign an issue to it?

How do I activate this new column on my Kanban board?

Cheers

Dave

Hi @Dave Makohon welcome to the community!

Trying to understand a bit more about the question - so can you see the On Hold column in your Kanban board after assigning an issue to On Hold?

You can also check out this resource and see if it helps.

Hope the above helps!

Hi @TC Wang - thanks for your reply and welcome!

I'm not able to assign an issue to On Hold in the first place. The only way I can assign an issues is to convert all issues in a column to On Hold - for example from Selected for Development to On Hold in the Board > Configure > Columns option.

I checked out that resource - thanks for sharing it. However it did not provide the information I was after unfortunately.

Hey @Dave Makohon - thanks for your swift reply!

Hmmm, it seems like a workflow problem to me. You can check the workflow diagram/editor to see how issues transitioned to On Hold.

Or you can contact Atlassian Support to see if any other ways to solve your problem.
