I want to create a table inside of this template, so that every time one of our employees creates a new task on the Kanban Board, the Table is ready to be edited each time. I found a way to link Google Sheets, but I want to keep everything inside of the Jira Software to keep things simple and streamlined.
I also tried using the Pages tab in Confluence, and was able to create a table and link it to the template, the problem is that it doesn't create a blank template to be edited, it is a link that re-edits the same page with previous changes each time it is opened.
If anyone can help or has a solution that would be great. Thanks
Hello @Cameron Poirier
Welcome to the community.
Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project? Can you provide a screen image of the "Issue Type" screen that you are referencing? I think you might be referring to the Issue Type screen in a Team Managed project, but want to confirm that.
Are you wanting to add the table within an existing text field in the issue, like the Description field? If so, and if you are indeed working with a Team Managed project, then that is not currently possible. There is a change request to add that, and you could add your Vote to that change request.

If that does not address your question, please provide more information.
Yes, I am working in a Team Managed Project. The Vote Request is exactly the issue that I need to be resolved.
If this project was a Company Managed Project, would I be able to resolve this issue by making a table in the "Issue Type" Template?

Creating template text for the Description field is not supported natively for Company Managed projects.
There is a way to do it with a custom field and automation. See this post:
You could also use a third party app from the Atlassian Marketplace to create issue templates.

It's Aleksandra from Deviniti, the vendor of the Issue Templates for Jira app.
After reading your post, I can see that you may find our app handy, as it allows to configure templates dedicated to different Jira projects.
In the template, you could configure the table according to your needs, and use the Create issue from templates button to apply the template to populate any fields values. You could also create separate templates for every repetitive type of issue in your project, such as bug report or requirement, to standarize the issue content.
Hopefully you will find it useful!
Cheers,
Aleksandra

@Aleksandra Bosacka _Deviniti_
Hi,
How do I prefill custom fields with static data?
I'd like to add simple text (no variables) to a field, but can't find it in the documentation.

Hello @Laci Kremer
To prefill custom fields with template values, you need to add the field to your Template project screens and then provide the text you need directly in the template.
Thanks to that, the app will automatically input the value when creating a new issue via Create from template screen.
If it doesn't get copied, please check your template scope settings and make sure that the field is included :)
Please let me know if it works!
Best,
Aleksandra
