How do you create a weekly report?

Tom Garland July 26, 2023

I need to provide a weekly report on progress and would like to use jira reporting to do that. However, our sprints are two weeks long. Is there a way to use the jira reporting capability (or any other method) to extract weekly reports? Thanks

Hi @Tom Garland ,

If you don't mind using add-ons, I suggest using the Cost Tracker for Jira Cloud app.

It's a valuable reporting tool that my team has developed.

You can make time reports, and if you set the cost of one hour of work for each team member, you can generate cost reports to estimate the cost of a project/sprint/epic/etc.

Reports are based on Jira filters and JQL queries.

In the near future, a progress bar will be added to the charts in the cost reports to show the progress of the work (the feature release is coming in a few days).

Here is the 30-day trial for you. The app is free for teams of up to 10 users.unnamed.png

You could try using Excel for those reports. If you have to re-create the same report every week, you can create a custom Excel report template for the Better Excel Exporter app to ease it.

(Note that the app is free for teams less than 11 users.)

Thanks for the response I will look at that

Personally, I'm a fan of creating dashboards with filters where I can simply change dates to show whatever period of time I like. This just provides me some added flexibility.
