How do you identify the default Dashboard?

Karen Harmon March 17, 2020

Experiencing issues with Users visibility to Dashboard, and unable to resolve.  I see documentation on the "Default Dashboard", but have no idea how to identify which Dashboard is the Default?

Hi Karen,

Yes, the System Dashboard is probably your default - that's what comes out of the box with Jira.

But you can add gadgets to the dashboard, and it might be that one of the gadgets on your dashboard is linked to an underlying filter that the users don't have access to. Make sure all of the filters used by all of the gadgets on the system dashboard are shared so that the users have access to them.

Hi @Karen Harmon

You can check your default dashboard on this path.

Jira Settings | System | System dashboard

The dashboard set here is for all the users by default.

I hope it helps.

Thanks Ravi,

Ok, so the System Dashboard is the default.  Makes sense, but none of our Users can see the System Dashboard, they get errors like ""An error occurred while generating the response.", and they don't see the Dashboard?
