How do you manage two issue types in the same Kanban board with a common status?

RIchard Gwatkin April 15, 2021

I have a Kanban board which displays both stories and subtasks. The issue types have different workflows but they have a status of Testing in both workflows.

Now the problem, for an issue in status of Testing I want to map to a different column in the board according to whether the issuetype is a Story or a Sub-task.

Is this possible or is this just bad board design and i need to have two boards?

You can't do this as described, the whole point of the column is that it groups together issues in the same status.

You can do it though, but you'll need to have two separate status for testing, one in each of your separate columns.
