How does the people list in project settings come from?

Hi There, 

It seems even I create a brand new project in Jira. There's a list in Project Setting>People. I thought I must add people manually for each project. Could anyone advise why this happened?

Hmmm, how did you create the project? By chance did you use an existing project to inherit the config?

here is an article that discusses this topic - create-a-new-project . Note I do not know if this result in inheriting people or not. I haven’t use “inherit” in a long time.

Actually I just create a new one and didn't copy from any existing project.

What users are added? Do they mirror some other project? I can’t really assess the cause. Another theory - someone else added them.
