I am creating a Jira dashboard report and want to add a custom column on that report to approve the row entry in report. User should have the value against entry in this column as editable field with approve/reject option. Based on value the row entry will kept in report or will be removed..
Hi @kalpita dixit,
if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields - including all custom fields - much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. With this, you should be able to create the experience you're looking for in just a couple of clicks:
This is a regular custom field Rejection added to a sheet, and the sheet scope (i.e., the JQL statement or filter that defines which issues are part of a sheet) set to exclude issues that are rejected.
Note that JXL can do much more than that: From support for configurable issue hierarchies, to issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.
Any questions just let me know,
Best,
Hannes
If I understood you correctly, you want to add a custom field as a column in the dashboard which is possible, however, the next thing that you are asking is editing the value of the field directly in the dashboard, it is not possible. You need to go to the issue & update the value of the field which will then be updated.
You can then use that field to filter our issues using JQL & then report them in multiple filter result gadgets. Hope this helps.
Do check on marketplace though, you may find some paid app which may allow you to do what you are expecting.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for your inputs. I will think of some other approach now...
Other question I have is Can we introduce a customized action which triggers a automation rule? As in customized action, I am referring to list of issue/subtask actions where I can add my customized action to add/remove label against usubtask...

Yes, most of the change within the issue can be used as an a trigger to run automation like field value change, label added or issue commented. It is true for both standard issue type & sub-tasks.
Hope it helps.
