Looking for process advice for the below scenario:
- Teammate A gets onboarded with their own unique e-mail address. They are given a Jira (Single Sign-On) account with that e-mail address.
- Teammate A leaves the company. After a designated amount of time their Active Directory account is removed from the system. This frees up their e-mail address to be used again.
- Teammate B onboards who has the same first initial and last name as Teammate A. They end up receiving the same email address as Teammate A.
- This creates an issue when it comes time to give Teammate B a Jira account with SSO. We do not remove old Jira accounts (we only disable them) because removing old accounts also removes their time logs and historical data.
- We do not want to assign the deactivated Jira account to the new teammate.
I've done some preliminary research and it seems that one of the best options is to rename the e-mail address of the deactivated account. Thoughts and other suggestions?
